Dear Southern Diamonds Members,

We want to let you know about several proposed amendments to our club bylaws that will be presented for a membership vote at our upcoming meeting.

At the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) Convention last September, delegates approved amendments to the national bylaws that strengthen the eligibility requirements for membership. One of those amendments provides a clear definition of "woman" for membership purposes.

As an affiliated club, Southern Diamonds has updated our proposed bylaws to reflect the same language adopted by the NFRW.

In addition, we took this opportunity to make a few organizational improvements that we believe will provide greater clarity for our members. These include:

A more clearly defined process for nominating and electing club officers.
Expanded descriptions of the duties and responsibilities of each elected officer to help members better understand each leadership role.

Our goal is to keep our bylaws current, clear, and consistent while providing a strong foundation for the continued growth of Southern Diamonds.

We encourage you to review the proposed amendments before the meeting and hope you'll join us as we vote on these important updates. Thank you for your continued support and for being such an important part of our Southern Diamonds family!

WOWZA!

The June 10th "Meet 'n Greet Your Candidates" Event

we co-hosted with the Lake FRW was a HUGE HIT!

Our very own Chaplain, Susan Whalen,

started the event off with a beautiful prayer and the Pledge.

Lake FRW's 1st Vice President, Sue Parent, emceed the event and

Beth Ramsay kept the candidates queued up ready

to speak to the audience when it was their turn.

Our Barbara Amato set up and staffed our "SDFRW Bling table"

and sold our cute purse charms.

Fallon Webb and Heather Platz hosted our SDFRW table

by the front door and talked with anyone who visited the table.

Lots of our meeting invitation cards were picked up,

so we look forward to visitors coming to our meetings.

and Beth Ramsay who worked together to make
